LAURINBURG, NC (WMBF) – Authorities and the governor of North Carolina are working to get a murder suspect back to the Tar Heel state.
The Laurinburg Police Department confirmed that North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein signed and issued a governor’s warrant to Virginia, asking for Florwer Carlin Lizano to be returned to the state.
Law enforcement arrested Lizano in Portsmouth, Va., back in January after a four-month search for him. He is accused of shooting and killing Waffle House employee Burlie “Dawson” Locklear, 18, inside the restaurant’s Scotland Crossing Drive location.
