Scott Zimmerman and his partner, Kate Paradis, commissioned architect Arielle Schechter to design their home, perched over North Carolina’s Haw River, in 2018. Finished in January 2020, it took more than a year to complete. But their timing was good – for the social distancing that accompanied a then-raging pandemic.
Their home’s located on 21 acres in Chatham County, just minutes from Chapel Hill. A 2020 Matsumoto Prize winner, it’ll be featured on a NCModernist Home Tour on May 3 of this year. It’s for sale at a cool $4.2 million, and worth every penny.
