Daycare worker to appear in court after toddler’s leg broken in Forsyth County

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — A woman has an upcoming court date after being charged for injuring an infant in her care at a Piedmont Triad daycare.

In August 2024, Nadia Tatyana Norwood, 22, of Winston-Salem, was charged with felony intentional child abuse inflicting serious physical injury after a 2-year-old’s leg was fractured in her care in June.

Warrants say that Norwood’s “willful act or grossly negligent omission in the care of the child shows a reckless disregard for human life if the act or omission results in serious physical injury to the child (spiral fracture of left tibia).” Law enforcement has not identified the day care center where Norwood was working at the time of the incident…
