20-year-old shot at Winston-Salem Taco Bell arrested on gun charges: Police

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A 20-year-old man who was shot at a Taco Bell in Winston-Salem last week has been arrested and charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm and felony carrying a concealed gun.

According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, officers responded to the Taco Bell at 349 Akron Avenue shortly after 4:30 p.m. on March 26 and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Police identified the suspect in the shooting and took him into custody the same day.

During their investigation, officers learned that 20-year-old Christopher James Caldwell and a 27-year-old man, both employees at the Taco Bell, were involved in a “physical altercation” when Caldwell was struck by gunfire. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries…
