Pedestrian injured after Friday night vehicle crash in Burlington: Police

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A pedestrian is injured after being struck by a vehicle in Burlington Friday evening. Police say the crash happened around 7:52 p.m. on Rural Retreat Road.

When officers arrived, they found 67-year-old Paulette Perry, of Burlington, who was taken to a nearby hospital and remains in serious condition. Investigators believe Perry was walking in a marked crosswalk heading toward Joe Davidson Park when she was hit by a 2019 Ford Escape SE.

The driver, 82-year-old Yvonne Glosson, also of Burlington, was traveling west on Rural Retreat Road at the time of the crash. Police say Glosson stayed at the scene, and there is no indication that speed or impairment were factors…
