Rainy start to the work week in the Piedmont Triad

(WGHP) — A slow-moving cold front will continue to douse North Carolina with showers and periods of heavy rain today.

Highs today will be in the upper 60s during the late morning hours.  Temperatures will slowly and steadily decline through the day, reaching the lower 60s by dinnertime.  Rainfall totals of between 1″ and 2″ of rain are possible today.

Showers taper off before midnight and skies rapidly clear out overnight.  Lows will be much cooler, in the mid-40s, by daybreak.

Sharply cooler, drier weather is ahead for Tuesday and Wednesday, and we will face a chance of frost or freeze.  During the day, enjoy sunny skies and highs in the mid-to-upper 50s, but Wednesday morning, lows are expected to dip to near freezing.  Please plan to cover any new plants in your garden on Tuesday night…
