(WSPA) — Due to some heavy rain in the forecast for residents in the Upstate and western North Carolina, Thursday is a Weather Impact Day.
Rain will begin Thursday afternoon, bringing strong winds and some severe thunderstorms to the area.
A second wave of heavy showers will roll through the region late Thursday night and will linger until early Friday morning.
The storm system is coming from St. Louis toward the southeast, along with a trailing cold front.
