Governor Josh Stein has appointed Lisa Johnson-Tonkins to the Superior Court in Judicial District 24A, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Lora Cubbage. Johnson-Tonkins previously served as the elected clerk of Superior Court in Guilford County.
According to the North Carolina Office of the Governor release, her appointment was announced yesterday and follows more than a decade of service in the Guilford County court system. She brings with her experience in court administration and legal procedures.
