Thomasville man wins $2 million prize on scratch-off lottery ticket

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — A Thomasville man recently received some life-changing luck by winning the $2 million top prize on a $20 scratch-off lottery ticket.

Jefferey Poole bought an Instant Millions ticket from the One Stop Food Mart on Salem Street in Thomasville. He claimed his prize Monday and had to decide between a lump sum of $1.2 million or an annuity of $100,000 over the next 20 years.

Poole decided to take the lump sum and walked away with $861,006 after state and federal tax withholdings…
