ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — After an accidental shooting in Mebane killed a 3-year-old, law enforcement officers in the Piedmont Triad are reminding everyone to keep their firearms secured and away from children.
Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Larry Kernodle gave FOX8 a step-by-step process of how to keep your gun secured with a gun lock.
“Make sure it’s empty. Magazine is out. Gun lock is as simple as this. Turn the key. One side comes out. All I’m going to do is run it through the magazine well. Through the ejection port. Back into the lock. Double-check and make sure it is secure. Let it go easy, and it is inaccessible,” Kernodle said…
