GREENSBORO, N.C. — Be aware, the WFMY News 2 Weather Team is calling for Weather Alert days on Monday (May 12, 2025) and Tuesday of next week. It’s going to be wet, with a couple of inches of rain expected over the two days.
Due to the Weather Alert, we can’t put all of you who would be in your cars and our volunteers in any possible danger, so we’re putting a pause on the WFMY News 2 Shred-A-Thon.
Again, the shred is being paused.
Keep your documents in a safe place. We’ll be looking for a new shred date. We’ve been doing free Shred-A-Thons since 2013. Protecting your identity is important, and shredding is one of the easiest ways to do it.
We couldn’t do a shred without our partners, PROSHRED of Raleigh, for providing the trucks and manpower. The men of Tau Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi volunteer each year to do the heavy lifting. The Greensboro Complex and its traffic events team keep everyone moving along.
