Attorney General Jeff Jackson reaches $4.7 million settlement for medical fraud

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Attorney General Jeff Jackson has reached a nearly $4.7 million consent judgment against the state’s medicaid program with Steven Osbey of Kernersville.

Several agencies investigated Reign & Inspirations, LLC, a behavioral health company co-owned and operated by Osbey and Aljihad Shabazz.

During the parallel criminal/civil investigation, the NC Attorney General’s Medicaid Investigations Division, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina, the FBI, and the IRS – Criminal Investigation found that Reign & Inspirations had committed fraud during data mining efforts…
