EDEN, N.C. (WGHP) — A new report recently released by the DMV is offering more insight into a crash that left four linemen dead in Eden in April.
The crash happened on April 24 in the area of Carroll Street and Church Street.

In May, Michael Ray Vernon, 66, of Eden, the driver of the dump truck involved in the crash, was fired, according to the City of Eden. Vernon reportedly did not have a commercial driver’s license when the crash happened.
He was charged with:
- one count of failing to stop for a stop sign
- one count of operating a commercial motor vehicle without a valid CDL
- four counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle
