GREENSBORO, N.C. — John McCollum was just a few blocks from home when another driver ran a stop sign and slammed into his car. The July afternoon crash on Bryson Street left his vehicle totaled—and set off a nearly three-month battle to get an insurance payout, even though McCollum wasn’t at fault.
“I was coming up the street, going straight through. She came from the other direction and ran the stop sign and hit me,” McCollum said.
