Scattered showers, isolated thunderstorm possible in parts of the Piedmont Triad on Monday

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — The remnants of Tropical Storm Chantal brought the Piedmont plenty of soaking rains on our Sunday. Parts of the area received over 2 inches of rainfall, and the rain only fell in the eastern portion of our area. Those in the foothills and mountains did not see any rain from the storm.

Overnight tonight, the remnants of Chantal will develop into a low-pressure system as it loses its tropical characteristics and moves the rain out of our area. For your Monday, we will wake up to clearing skies and temperatures warming back into the low 90s by the afternoon. There is a small chance for some scattered showers or an isolated thunderstorm, but coverage will be minimal.

For those who are a fan of a hot and muggy summertime pattern, the rest of the week looks to be right up your alley…
