Over 27,000 central NC households are without power. When will it come back on?

As of noon Monday, about 27,000 households remain without power after heavy rains from Tropical Storm Chantal downed trees and flooded parts of the Triangle.

Who is affected?

▪ Almost 7,500 customers in Orange County – about 13% of Duke Energy’s customers in the county — have lost power, while over 6,000 customers are without power in Alamance County, according to Duke Energy’s outage map.

▪ About 2,000 customers near downtown Chapel Hill have lost power. About 1,000 customers have no electricity in Governor’s Village south of Chapel Hill.
