MEBANE, N.C. — Governor Josh Stein will visit Alamance County on Tuesday to survey flood damage in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Chantal.
Heavy rains brought by the remnants of the storm caused widespread flooding Sunday, causing one death and damage to roads and homes across the area. Some parts of Alamance County received as much as 10 inches of rain from on Sunday, and the Haw River reached a peak of 32.47 feet, just shy of the all-time record of 32.8 feet during Hurricane Fran in 1996…
