Crash on Interstate 40 East in Greensboro shuts down lanes

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A crash on Interstate 40 East in Greensboro has shut down multiple lanes of the highway on Thursday morning, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The crash occurred between Mile Marker 221 and Mile Marker 220 near Exit 221 for South Elm-Eugene Street.

The left two lanes of I-40 East were closed at the South Elm-Eugene Street exit.

Traffic camera footage from DriveNC.gov showed substantial traffic backup on I-40 East as well as a car that was sitting horizontally across the two left lanes of the road…
