East Tennessee group aids central North Carolina with post-flood recovery

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — After deadly flooding swept through parts of central North Carolina, one East Tennessee organization is stepping in to help hard-hit communities recover.

GPS Disaster Relief, a nonprofit based in Oakdale, was founded by Brandon Gaylor after he felt called to help tornado victims in East Tennessee. Now, he’s leading teams into flooded areas of North Carolina.

“I just felt called to go up there and help… That’s kind of how I got started in all this,” Gaylor said. “I guess a calling from God, honestly.”…
