Rabies-positive cat prompts health alerts in Guilford County

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — A cat in the Jamestown area of Guilford County has tested positive for rabies, making it the third confirmed animal case in the county this year, according to the Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services.

The cat, found on Woodmont Drive, tested positive on July 17, prompting a public health alert. Officials are urging residents to take precautions to protect both themselves and their pets from possible exposure.
