High Point Mayor Cyril Jefferson receives civil rights award

GREENSBORO, N.C. — High Point Mayor Cyril Jefferson was honored Saturday with the “Keeper of the Flame” Award by the International Civil Rights Center & Museum, recognizing his work in public service and commitment to equity and opportunity.

The award was presented during the museum’s annual fundraising gala on July 19. It honors individuals who continue the legacy of the civil rights movement through service, leadership and advocacy.
