Extras needed for movie filming in Triad from Oscar-winning writer of ‘BlacKkKlansman’

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A new feature film set to begin filming in the Triad is looking for background actors. Filming in the Triad starts on Friday and continues through August.

According to Bard Background Casting, the film from director Kevin Willmott — who won multiple Oscars for helping write BlacKkKlansman — will center around the life of George Moses Horton, an African-American poet born into slavery in North Carolina in 1798. Moses was enslaved until Union Troops carrying the Emancipation Proclamation reached North Carolina in 1865.
