Second Woman Arrested on Accessory Charge in Connection to Double Murder in Reidsville

A second woman has been charged in connection to a double homicide in Reidsville. According to the Reidsville Police Department, investigators have charged Deaja Scales, of Reidsville, with being an accessory after the fact. Scales is currently being held at the Rockingham County Detention Center on a $500,000 secured bond, she is scheduled to appear in court on July 29.

The charges stem from a double homicide that occurred on June 12 in the 500 block of Roach Street. 42-year-old Samuel Brook and 37-year-old Shanika Penn were killed in the shooting.

The Reidsville Police Department is still looking for the suspect, 45-year-old Dexter Lamar Scales, who is wanted on two charges of first degree murder. 39-year-old Leslie Moyer, of Eden, was also previously arrested for accessory after the fact…
