Two arrested in Burlington gun store break-in; third suspect wanted by police

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Two men have been arrested and a third suspect is being sought in connection with a break-in earlier this month at a Burlington gun store, where several firearms were stolen after a car was driven through the storefront, police said.

The incident occurred around 3:17 a.m. on July 13 at Weapon Works, located at 1433 University Drive. When officers arrived, they found the store’s front glass completely shattered and the steel security barrier forced open. Investigators determined that a black 2013 Kia Optima had been used to ram into the building to gain entry. The suspects fled the scene before police arrived.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, two suspects , Bryson Matthew Clarkson, 18, and Sayvon Williams, 19, were taken into custody. Both were charged with eight counts of felony larceny of a firearm, two counts of felony conspiracy, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, injury to real property, hit and run leaving the scene with property damage, and breaking and entering.
