Expect hot, humid Sunday in Piedmont Triad

(WGHP) — Our temperatures officially reached 95° in the Triad Saturday afternoon, marking day 2 with temperatures above 90°. We’ll remain in the 90s until 8 p.m. when temperatures finally start to drop into the 80s. Skies will be mostly clear this evening.

Overnight, our temperatures will only drop into the mid 70s. That means Sunday morning, it’ll already be warm and muggy to start the day. By the afternoon, temperatures reach the mid 90s again with a mix of sun and clouds. Stray showers can’t be ruled out, but the majority of us just remain hot and humid. The chance for rain is 20%.

High pressure continues sitting over much of the south and southeast bringing more hot days ahead. We’ll start Monday morning in the upper 70s with highs in the mid 90s. Both Tuesday and Wednesday start off in the mid 70s with highs returning to the mid 90s. We’ll continue to see a mix of sun and clouds with the potential for a stray shower.
