Gov. Stein appoints new DA for Carteret, Craven, Pamlico

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCT) — Governor Josh Stein has appointed Matthew T. Wareham as the District Attorney in Prosecutorial District 4, serving Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico counties.

According to a press release, Wareham is currently the Chief Assistant District Attorney in Prosecutorial District 4 and has served as an Assistant District Attorney in the same office since 2017. He also served as an Assistant District Attorney in Alamance County for almost three years.

“Matt has spent his entire career in public service, serving as a prosecutor for more than a decade in Alamance, Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico counties,” said Governor Josh Stein. “I look forward to seeing all he accomplishes in his new role.”…
