Concept art reveals vision for Villages of Summerfield Farms project

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Newly-released concept art offers a first look at developer David Couch’s plans for the Villages of Summerfield Farms.

800 acres in Summerfield were the center of a legislative battle last year; however, state leaders voted for the property to be de-annexed, making way for a big project from Couch.

The Villages of Summerfield Farms is planned to span hundreds of acres with 268 dwellings, including different styles of apartments, houses and cottages varying in price for sale or rent.

The developer plans to build 11 “villages” over the next 30 years.

Couch and his team received a green light from the state legislature to de-annex nearly one thousand acres in Summerfield, and the City of Greensboro has approved the project’s first step, a community they are calling Christopher Village, located right by Lake Higgins on the very south end of Couch’s property.

Couch’s team says they are beginning engineering on the property, looking at logistics like water and sewer and preparing to break ground by 2026…
