Search for missing man last seen at unlicensed care facility in Greensboro crosses 1-month mark

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — One month has passed since Larry Burton disappeared from an unlicensed care facility in Greensboro.

Police say 74-year-old Larry Darnell Burton was last seen on July 2 around 10:30 p.m. Officers responded to a report of Burton’s disappearance around 7:15 a.m. on July 3, on the 1200 block of Moody Street.

Burton’s family said he was placed at a facility that they were led to believe was a care home. On Friday afternoon, a representative at the facility told FOX8 that the facility is independent housing.

“He has his own home with three bedrooms. If he could go to an independent living facility, he could have just went home where my two sons could have helped him. He did not need to go to an independent living facility. That doesn’t make sense,” Burton’s daughter Latonya Swift said…
