GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Another national fast-food chain is expanding into the Piedmont Triad. Whataburger opened its first location in the area last week on Wendover Avenue in Greensboro.
People have lined up in the drive-thru and inside the restaurant to try the Texas-based chain that just celebrated 75 years in business.
More than 1100 locations stretch across the country from the Southwest to the Southeast. The restaurants stay open 24 hours a day, serving breakfast from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. and their famous five-inch burgers all day.

The Greensboro location is part of a rapid expansion of Whataburger across our state. By the end of the year, the chain will open a second location in Greensboro as well as restaurants in Kernersville and High Point. The company expects to have eight locations in the Triad in the next three years…
