PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Thunderstorms rumbled across the southern Piedmont early this morning, and we may still have more to come before lunchtime.
It’s looking more like showers and a few thunderstorms are more likely to tumble over the Blue Ridge and into the northern Piedmont today, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. We have a Level 1/Marginal Risk of excessive rainfall that may produce localized flash flooding. Highs today will be in the lower-80s and the chance of rain is 80%.
Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight with only an isolated shower possible. Lows will be in the lower 70s.
Thursday will be a more typical summer day. We will have variably cloudy skies with a 40% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs are going to top out in the mid-80s…
