GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Children lined up with their families in Greensboro and High Point this weekend, eager to pick out colorful backpacks stacked and ready for the new school year. Families got to choose from more than 1,000 free backpacks, thanks to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.
For many families, the event helped ease back-to-school expenses. For the sheriff’s office, it offered a chance to connect with residents outside of emergencies and law enforcement calls.
