High Point neighbors in Five Points area push back against Open Door Ministries looking at nearby property for shelter, day center

HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — Some people who live in and around High Point’s Five Points neighborhood said they don’t want a new homeless shelter and day center moving in nearby.

The nonprofit Open Door Ministries of High Point is looking at property on Jamestown Parkway to help more people.

The multiphase project would include a 128–bed men’s shelter, a 32–bed women’s shelter and the capacity to add bunk beds if needed…
