Missing Iowa girl found over 900 miles away; man facing exploitation charges

A man is facing solicitation and sexual exploitation charges after authorities say he picked up a girl from Iowa and took her over 900 miles away to North Carolina, according to local investigators.

John Michael Johnson, 25, is accused of picking up the girl in Fairfield, Iowa, about 113 miles southeast of Des Moines, and taking her over 900 miles away to Rockingham County, North Carolina, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina said in a press release.
