The Fairfield Police Department has requested a warrant for John Michael Johnson, 25, of Reidsville, North Carolina, on a charge of first-degree kidnapping—a Class A felony in Iowa.
This charge is in addition to the ones Johnson already faces in Rockingham County, North Carolina. He is currently being held there on charges of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and felony solicitation by computer. Johnson is being held in the Rockingham County Jail on a $850,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham District Court on August 26.
Authorities say Johnson is accused of kidnapping a 15-year-old juvenile from Fairfield, Iowa. He will remain in North Carolina custody until arrangements are made for his transport to Jefferson County for a court appearance in Iowa…
