WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A West Palm Beach man already serving decades in federal prison for orchestrating violent, multi-state home invasion robberies targeting cryptocurrency holders has been sentenced to nearly seven more years for assaulting a witness who testified against him.
Remy St Felix, 25, was sentenced to six years and 10 months in prison for retaliating against a witness following his conviction on nine federal counts, including conspiracy, kidnapping, Hobbs Act robbery, wire fraud, and brandishing a firearm during crimes of violence, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. The new sentence includes 36 months to run concurrently and 46 months consecutively with his existing 47-year prison term.
“This additional prison time means he will likely be in his 70s before possibly walking free again,” said FBI Special Agent in Charge James C. Barnacle Jr. “While we know his victims will never fully recover, we hope this sentence provides them some sense of justice.”…
