WS/FCS employees face anxious wait as job fate revealed on Labor Day

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools (WS/FCS) is still working through a district-wide Reduction in Force, but some employees won’t learn until Monday the fate of their jobs.

In an email to staff, Interim Superintendent Catty Moore said the district had planned to notify all employees affected by job cuts or demotions by Thursday. However, last-minute changes in allotment allocations and new vacancies delayed the process.

The district says Exceptional Children (EC) teachers, alternatively licensed teachers, school-based office staff, and some central office staff will now get their notifications Monday, which is Labor Day…
