GREENSBORO, N.C. — Guilford County Schools says its students are showing steady progress — and in some cases, record-breaking success — in the latest accountability report for the 2024–25 school year.
At a media briefing, district leaders shared data on student achievement, growth, graduation rates, and college and career readiness. Out of 111 schools, 31 exceeded state expectations, 55 met expectations, and 25 did not meet growth goals. Leaders say that puts GCS close to where it was before the pandemic.
“We also have schools showing consistency. Two schools have exceeded growth for four years in a row, and six schools have exceeded growth for three years in a row. This demonstrates not only progress but sustainability in instructional practices,” said Dr. Sonia Stevens, Chief of Staff.
