Green Tree Frogs in Guilford County

Notice: Greensboro Daily Photo is in a little bit of a crisis. TypePad has been our web host since 2009. They are shutting down at the end of September. We are trying to save all of our GDP posts in some systematic, retrievable way. Likely, we will start posting on WordPress. This is a lot to navigate for a mom and pop pair who learn as we go with respect to 21st century technology. Our frog photo for Friday did not post because TypePad crashed. As of Saturday morning, it is back up. So, here is your Friday post. If we are gone forever, it has been a good nearly-seventeen-year run. We appreciate all of you who have ever read a post. So many places have used our one or more of our 6,000+ photos of Greensboro . If we can find a way to continue GDP after September, our domain name “greensborodailyphoto.com” should work.

Today’s post is of a green tree frog on our front door late at night. According to the NC Wildlife reference page (HERE), They aren’t supposed to be in Guilford County. The map indicates they stop in the eastern end of Orange County. We are thrilled to host them in our yard and on our glass, front door. The bullfrogs have commandeered the back door and patio. There is a big fat bullfrog who hangs out under the wheel of a piece of patio furniture. These amphibians are our living bug control system and our reward for leaving the yard as natural as possible.
