Teen shot after dispute with rideshare driver, Winston-Salem police say

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — Police are investigating after a shooting involving a rideshare driver and a teen.

According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, on Sunday around 1:44 p.m., they responded to a shooting on Doris Street. At the scene, they found a 17-year-old who had been shot and he was transported to the hospital. He remains in critical condition, but is stable.

Upon investigating, police said they believe the shooting was the result of a dispute with a rideshare driver. Allegedly, the teen “became upset” when a ride was canceled and approached the driver threateningly while armed. This resulted in the teen being shot…
