22-year-old man accused of murder in death of 27-year-old woman in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A man is in custody and is being charged with murder in the shooting death of a 27-year-old woman, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

On September 11, at 10:16 p.m., the WSPD responded to a shooting in the 3900 block of Cullen Street and found Destiny Kamara Tucker, 27, had been shot. She died at the scene.

On Wednesday, officers took 22-year-old Jaheim Bennett into custody and charged him with misdemeanor possession of stolen goods, felony possession of a stolen firearm, felony possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, felony possession of a firearm by a felon and felony murder.

Bennett also has an outstanding fugitive warrant from New York on three separate charges.

Investigators say that Bennett and Tucker “were known to one another.”…
