MEBANE, N.C. — State officials have approved a certificate of need application to allow Cone Health to build a new $250 million hospital in Mebane.
According to Cone Health officials, the hospital will sit at 103 Medical Park Drive, next to Cone Health MedCenter Mebane. The new facility will be over 161,000 square feet and will feature the following:
- 46 acute care beds
- 15 emergency department bays
- 3 general operating rooms
- 1 C-section operating room
- 2 procedure rooms
- 3 obstetric labor, delivery, recovery beds
- 7 observation beds
- Imaging, ancillary and support services
Cone Health says this new hospital should alleviate issues where residents have to take long trips along I-40/I-85 for hospital services.
“We’re thrilled to see this project move forward,” Alamance Regional Medical Center President Chad Boore, who is responsible Cone Health’s north and east markets, said in a statement. “It will make a real difference for families in our region.”…
