HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — Tens of thousands of people from across the world will travel to High Point next month for the semi-annual International Home Furnishings Market. And for many, one local bakery is a must-stop during their trip. Dot and Pearl’s on Lexington Avenue in High Point has become both a local favorite and an international one.
The bakery just celebrated its 10th anniversary. When it first opened, the owners started serving a few flavors of their cake to people shopping in their boutique. The recipes came from their grandmother’s cookbooks, and the cakes quickly became so popular that they took over the business.
Now dozens of employees work around the clock to make forty-six flavors of cake daily, along with pies, puddings and pastries all made from scratch and baked one at a time like their grandmother’s recipes…
