From a Car to a Home: Greensboro Woman’s Journey Out of Homelessness

GREENSBORO, N.C. — For most people, a 1997 Lincoln Continental is just an old car. But for Stephanie Parker, it was home.

For nearly two years, Parker lived out of her car, often parked at local gas stations where she found unexpected kindness.

“It didn’t matter which one I went to,” she said. “They fed me. They didn’t run me off the premises.”
