Winston-Salem man sentenced to more than 18 years in prison on drug, gun and assault charges

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem man has been sentenced to more than 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to a long list of drug trafficking, gun, and assault charges connected to several investigations spanning more than two years.

According to the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office, Timothy Renard Marsh pleaded guilty on July 9, 2025, to 12 felony charges, including four counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, three counts of trafficking in opium or heroin, trafficking in marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell or deliver fentanyl, possession of a firearm by a felon, and assault inflicting serious bodily injury.

Prosecutors said the first investigation began in October 2022, when the Forsyth County Drug Task Force tracked a package from Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Marsh’s home. The package contained more than 11 pounds of marijuana, and a search of his residence uncovered a large amount of cash consistent with drug trafficking.
