WHITSETT, N.C. (WGHP) — Peacehaven Farm broke ground on its new 20,000-square-foot community center Sunday in Whitsett.
Peacehaven Farm is a nonprofit that serves people with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities by providing safe and secure housing, as well as a long list of programs, and, now, a space to hold events and more opportunities to learn and grow.
“There’s not always a place for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their families need support,” said Heidi Norwick, chair of the Peacehaven board. “This is a unique opportunity for us to do something that’s never been done before. … You know, I started serving on the board last year and I’ve heard of the extensive support for Peavehaven but actually seeing everybody here today celebrating, united and just sharing in a vision that’s going to be amazing.”…
