BURLINGTON, N.C. — Officials for both the City of Burlington and Guilford County are preparing to consider local incentives for a project code-named “Project Titan”, which could bring roughly $860 million in capital investment and create about 505 new jobs by December 2033.
City and county officials say Project Titan is linked to a major national grocery chain planning to locate a large facility on the Guilford-Alamance county line. According to sources close to the project, Food Lion is the national grocery chain in question.
Guilford County’s proposed agreement would reimburse the company about $17.9 million, while Burlington’s incentive package is valued at roughly $21.5 million, according to public notices…
