Greensboro details progress on ‘Road to 10,000’ in Housing & Neighborhood Development annual report

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The City of Greensboro’s Housing and Neighborhood Development Department says that over the past year, it has helped finance hundreds of new affordable homes, expanded rental assistance, and laid the groundwork for the city’s most ambitious housing initiative yet — the “Road to 10,000.”

The department’s newly released 2024–25 annual report outlines progress on key housing and neighborhood projects across the city, including the creation of 264 new affordable rental units and the launch of a multi-year effort to build or preserve 10,000 housing units by 2030.

‘Road to 10,000’ Initiative

City Manager Nathaniel “Trey” Davis announced the plan earlier this year, saying it’s designed to meet rising housing demand as Greensboro and the surrounding region continue to grow.
