Thousands in Forsyth County at risk of losing federal assistance amid government shutdown

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — Thousands of people in Forsyth County could soon lose access to essential federal assistance programs if the government shutdown continues into next month.

County leaders say residents who rely on benefits like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program may be among the first affected once October ends.
