BURLINGTON, N.C. — As major job projects move into the Triad, local nonprofits say the demand for affordable housing is outpacing what they can provide, especially in Alamance County.
Habitat for Humanity of Alamance County, which has built nearly 200 homes since its founding in 1988, currently constructs only six to eight affordable homes each year.
