Love, loss, and gunfire: 72-year-old man accused of shooting into a home and Walmart after his girlfriend was fired

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. (WTRF) — A Forsyth County man has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, after an investigation linked two separate shooting incidents.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 1100 block of Pullman Drive in Rural Hall on Oct. 10, 2025, after a resident reported their home had been struck by multiple bullets.

Working alongside the King Police Department and using forensic technology, investigators determined the shooting was connected to a similar incident at a Walmart in King. Authorities believe both shootings were in retaliation for the suspect’s girlfriend being fired from her job…
